Onlara, kendilerinden öncekilerin; Nuh, Ad, Semud kavminin, İbrahim kavminin, Medyen ahalisinin ve yerle bir olan şehirlerin haberi gelmedi mi? Onlara resulleri apaçık deliller getirmişlerdi. Demek ki Allah, onlara zulmediyor değildi, ama onlar kendi nefislerine zulmediyorlardı.

Onlara kendilerinden öncekilerin, Nuh, 'Ad ve Semud kavimlerinin, İbrahim kavminin, Medyen halkının ve alt-üst olan şehirlerin haberi gelmedi mi? Peygamberleri onlara apaçık mucizeler getirmişti. Demek ki Allah onlara zulmetmedi, fakat onlar kendi kendilerine zulmettiler.

Nuh'un halkı, Ad, Semud, İbrahim'in halkı, Medyen sakinleri ve altüst olmuş ülkelerin (Sadom ve Gomore) halkları gibi kendilerinden öncekilerin haberleri onlara ulaşmadı mı? Elçileri kendilerine apaçık belgelerle gitmişlerdi. ALLAH onlara zulmediyor değildi, aksine onlar kendi kendilerine zulmediyorlardı.

Bunlara o kendilerinden evvelkilerin: kavmı Nuhun, Adın, Semudün, kavmı İbrahimin, Eshabı medyenin, Mü'tefikelerin haberi gelmedi mi? Hep bunlara Peygamberleri beyyinelerle gelmişlerdi, demek ki Allah onlara zulmetmiş değil idi ve lakin kendileri kendilerine zulmediyorlardı

(İnanmadıkları için tamamen helak oldular). Demek ki Allah onlara zulmediyor değildi, fakat onlar kendi kendilerine zulmediyorlardı.

Onlara kendilerinden öncekilerin, Nuh, Ad ve Semud kavminin, İbrahim kavminin, Medyen ve altüst olmuş şehirler halkının haberleri gelmedi mi? Peygamberi onlara apaçık delillerle gelmişlerdi. Allah, onlara zulmediyor değildi. Ama onlar, kendilerine zulmediyorlardı.

O halde, hiç göz önüne almazlar mı, kendilerinden öncekilerin başına gelenleri? Nuh toplumunun (başına gelenleri), 'Ad ve Semud toplumlarının, İbrahim toplumunun, Medyen halkının ve yıkılıp giden bütün o şehirlerin (başına gelenleri)? Bunların hepsine, kendi (içlerinden çıkarılan) elçiler, hakkı ortaya koyan apaçık delillerle gelmişlerdi, (fakat bu toplumlar onlara karşı çıktılar:) dolayısıyla, Allah değildi (azabıyla) onlara zulmeden; onların bizzat kendileriydi kendilerine zulmeden.

Onlara, kendilerinden önce geçen Nuh, Ad, Semud kavimlerinin, İbrahim kavminin, Medyen ve alt üst olmuş şehirlerin halklarının haberleri gelmedi mi? Resulleri onlara belgeler getirmişlerdi. Allah, onlara zulmetmemiş fakat onlar, kendi kendilerine zulmetmişlerdi.

Kendilerinden önce gelip geçmiş milletlerin başlarına gelen olaylara dair haber onlara ulaşmadı mı? Nuh kavminden, Ad, Semud ve İbrahim kavminden, Medyen halkından ve şehirleri yerle bir edilen toplumdan haberdar olmadılar mı?Onlara peygamberleri açık deliller getirdi ama inanmadılar, bundan dolayı Allah'ın gazabına uğradılar. Ama onlara Allah zulmetmedi, lakin onlar kendi kendilerine zulmediyorlardı.

Onlara kendilerinden öncekilerin, Nuh, Ad, Semud kavminin, İbrahim kavminin, Medyen halkının ve başları üstüne ters dönen şehirlerin haberi gelmedi mi? Elçileri, onlara açık deliller getirmişti (Ama inanmadılar, bundan dolayı Allah'ın gazabına uğradılar). Allah onlara zulmediyor değildi, onlar kendi kendilerine zulmediyorlardı.

Gelmedi mi onlara kendilerinden öncekilerin haberi: Nuh kavminin, Ad'ın, Semud'un, İbrahim kavminin, Medyen halkının ve altı üstüne gelmiş kentlerin. Resulleri onlara açık seçik ayetler getirmişti. Allah onlara zulmediyor değildi; aksine, öz benliklerine onlar zulmediyorlardı.

Yoksa kendilerinden önce geçip gidenlerin, Nuh kavminin, Ad ve Semud'un, İbrahim kavminin, Medyen ahalisinin ve bütün o altı üstüne gelmiş kentlerin (felaket) haberleri onlara ulaşmadı mı? Öncekilere (de) elçileri hakikatin apaçık delilleriyle gelmişlerdi (fakat inkar ettiler). Sonuçta, Allah onlara kıymış değildi; fakat onlar asıl kendi kendilerine kıydılar.

Onlara, kendilerinden öncekilerin; Nuh, Ad ve Semud halklarının, İbrahim halkının ve Medyen sahiplerinin ve mutefikelerin[1] haberi gelmedi mi? Rasulleri onlara açık kanıtlar getirmişti. Allah, onlara haksızlık etmiş değildi. Fakat onlar kendi kendilerine haksızlık yapıyorlardı.

Onlardan öncekilerin; Nuh, Âd ve Semud toplumları, İbrahim toplumu, Medyen yoldaşları ve yerle bir olmuş kentlerin haberleri onlara gelmedi mi? Elçiler, onlara açık kanıtlar getirdiler. Sonunda, Allah, onlara haksızlık etmedi. Tam tersine, onlar, kendilerine yazık ettiler.

Öncekilerin haberleri; Nuh'un, Ad'ın, Semud'un halkının, İbrahim halkının, Meyden'lilerin ve altı üstüne getirilmiş yerlerin haberleri size ulaşmadı mı? Elçileri onlara o açık belgelerle(mucizelerle) gelmişlerdi. Allah onlara yanlış yapmış değildir ama onlar yanlışı kendilerine yapmışlardı.

Nuh'un halkı, Ad, Semud, İbrahim'in halkı, Medyen sakinleri ve altüst olmuş ülkelerin (Sadom ve Gomore) halkları gibi kendilerinden öncekilerin haberleri onlara ulaşmadı mı? Elçileri kendilerine apaçık belgelerle gitmişlerdi. ALLAH onlara zulmediyor değildi, aksine onlar kendi kendilerine zulmediyorlardı.

Onlara kendilerinden öncekilerin, Nuh kavminin, Âd'in, Semûd'un, İbrahim kavminin, Medyen halkının ve altüst olan şehirlerin haberi ulaşmadı mı? Elçileri onlara apaçık deliller getirmişti.[1] Allah onlara haksızlık edecek değildi fakat onlar kendi kendilerine haksızlık etmekteydiler.[2]

Bu münafıklara kendilerinden önce gelmiş olan Nuh'un halkının, Ad'ın, Semud'un[1], İbrahim'in halkının, Medyen ahalisinin ve altı üstüne getirilmiş yerlerin haberi ulaşmadı mı[2]? Elçileri onlara açık belgelerle gelmişlerdi. Allah onlara asla yanlış yapmadı; yanlışı onlar kendilerine yapıyorlardı.

Have they not learned anything from the previous generations; the people of Noah, 'Aad, Thamood, the people of Abraham, the dwellers of Midyan, and the evildoers (of Sodom and Gomorrah)? Their messengers went to them with clear proofs. GOD never wronged them; they are the ones who wronged their own souls.

Did the news not come to them of those before them, the people of Noah and 'Aad and Thamud. And the people of Abraham, and the dwellers of Midyan, and those overthrown. Their messengers came to them with clarity; it was not God who wronged them, but it was themselves that they wronged.

Had not the news of those before them come to them, the people of Noah and Aad and Thamud. The people of Abraham, and the dwellers of Midian, and those overthrown. Their messengers came to them with proofs; it was not God who wronged them, but it was themselves that they wronged.

[9:70] Have they not heard the accounts of those who came before them - of the people of Noah and 'Ad and Thamud, and the people of Abraham and the dwellers of Madyan (Midian), and the cities that were overturned? Their Messengers came to them with Clear Signs. Then, it was not Allah Who caused them any wrong; they rather wronged themselves.

Has not the story reached them of those before them? - The people of Nûh (Noah), ‘Âd, and Thamûd, the people of Ibrâhîm (Abraham), the dwellers of Madyan (Midian) and the cities overthrown [i.e. the people to whom Lût (Lot) preached]; to them came their Messengers with clear proofs. So it was not Allâh Who wronged them, but they used to wrong themselves.

Has there not reached them the news of those before them, the people of NūH and ‘Ād and Thamūd and the people of Ibrāhīm and the people of Madyan, and (the news) of the towns overturned? Their messengers came to them with clear signs; so, Allah was not such as would wrong them, but they have been doing wrong to their own selves.

Hath not the story reached them of those before them?- the People of Noah, and 'Ad, and Thamud; the People of Abraham, the men of Midian, and the cities overthrown. To them came their messengers with clear signs. It is not Allah Who wrongs them, but they wrong their own souls.

Hath not the fame of those before them reached them - the folk of Noah, A'ad, Thamud, the folk of Abraham, the dwellers of Midian and the disasters (which befell them)? Their messengers (from Allah) came unto them with proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty). So Allah surely wronged them not, but they did wrong themselves.

Have they not received the stories of those ˹destroyed˺ before them: the people of Noah, ’Âd, and Thamûd, the people of Abraham, the residents of Midian, and the overturned cities ˹of Lot˺?[1] Their messengers came to them with clear proofs. Allah would have never wronged them, but it was they who wronged themselves.

Have they never heard the stories about their predecessors, the peoples of Noah, Ad, Thamud, Abraham, Midian, and the ruined cities? Their messengers came to them with clear evidence of the truth: God would not deceive them; they deceived themselves.

Has not the account of those before them come to them, -- of the people of Noah and 'Ad and Thamud, of Abraham and Midian, and all the habitations that were destroyed? Their apostles had come to them with clear proofs; and God did not surely wrong them, they wronged themselves.

Has the news of those who came before them not reached them the people of Nuh and ‘Ad and Thamud, and the people of Ibrahim and the inhabitants of Madyan and the overturned cities? Their Messengers brought them the Clear Signs. Allah did not wrong them; rather they wronged themselves.

Has there not come to them the account of those who were before them —the people of Noah, ‘Ād, and Thamūd, and the people of Abraham, the inhabitants of Midian, and the towns that were overturned? Their apostles brought them manifest proofs. So it was not Allah who wronged them, but it was they who used to wrong themselves.

Have they not been acquainted with the history of those who have been before them? Of the people of Noah, and of Ad, and of Thamud, and of the people of Abraham, and of the inhabitants of Madian, and of the cities which were overthrown? Their apostles came unto them with evident demonstrations: And God was not disposed to treat them unjustly; but they dealt unjustly with their own souls.

Did there not come to them the story of those who were before them? Of the people of Noah and A'ad and Thamud, and of the people of Abraham, and the people of Midian? And of their overthrown cities? Their messengers came to them with manifest signs; for Allah surely wrongs them not, but it was themselves that they wronged.

Has there not come up to them the tiding of the ones who were even before them, the people of Nûh, (Noah) and Aad, and Tham?d, and the people of Ibrahîm, (Abraham) and the companions (i. e., the inhabitants) of Madyan, and the cities of falsehood? Their Messengers came up to them with the clear evidences; so in no way did Allah indeed do them (any) injustice, but they were doing themselves injustice..

Has there not come to you the tidings of those who were before you -- the people of Noah, Ad, Thamood, the people of Abraham, the men of Midian and the subverted cities? Their Messengers came to them with the clear signs God would not wrong them, but themselves they wronged.

Have they not heard the news of their predecessors, of the people of Noah, `Âd and Thamûd and of the people of Abraham and of the dwellers of Midian, and of the cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah) which were overthrown? There had come to them their Messengers (of God) with clear proofs (but they denied them and suffered the consequences thereof). So it was not Allâh who dealt with them unjustly but they did injustice to themselves.

Did there not come to them the declaration of those who were before them? of the people of Noah and 'Ad and Thamud, and of the people of Abraham, and the people of Midian? and of the overturned (cities)? Their apostles came to them with manifest signs; for God would not wrong them, but it was themselves they wronged.

Have these people ever heard of the previous sinners such as the people of Noah, Thamud, Aad, the people of Abraham, the citizens of Midyan and the evil doers [of Sodom & Gomorrah]? Their prophets went to them with undeniable proofs (miracles. ) God never did any injustice to them. It was they themselves who were unjust to their own souls.

Have, then, the stories of those who preceded them never come within the ken of these [hypocrites and deniers of the truth]?-[the stories] of Noah's people, and of [the tribes of] `Ad and Thamud, and of Abraham's people, and of the folk of Madyan, and of the cities that were overthrown? To [all of] them their apostles had come with all evidence of the truth. [but they rejected them:] and so it was not God who wronged them [by His punishment], but it was they who wronged themselves.

Have they not been informed of what became of their predecessors -the people of Nuh (Noah) and those of 'Ad, the people of Thamud and those of Ibrahim(Abraham), the people of Shuaib -the Madianites- and those of Lut (Lot) - the subverted cities-. All of them received Messengers who brought them divine illumination and enlightenment. Never was Allah going to do them. injustice, but it was they who wronged themselves.

Did the news not come to them of those before them, the people of Noah and 'Aad and Thamud, and the people of Abraham, and the dwellers of Median, and those overthrown. Their messengers came to them with clarity; it was not God who wronged them, but it was themselves that they wronged.

Has there not reached them the news of those before them - the people of Noah and [the tribes of] 'Aad and Thamud and the people of Abraham and the companions of Madyan and the towns overturned? Their messengers came to them with clear proofs. And Allah would never have wronged them, but they were wronging themselves.

Has not the history reached them of those before them? Of the People of Noah, Aad, Thamud, Abraham's folk, the dwellers of Midyan, and the disasters that befell them. Their Messengers had come to them with clear evidence of the Truth. Allah never did injustice to them. But they used to wrong their own people and thus wronged their own "Self".

Has the story of those before them not reached them? The people of Nuh (Noah), and Ad, and Samood (Thamud); The people of Ibrahim (Abraham), the men of Madyan (Midian), and the Cities (all) defeated. Their messengers came to them with Clear Signs. It is not Allah Who does wrong to them, but (it is) they who do wrong to their own souls.

Has not the report of those before them come to them: the people of Noah, and ʿĀd, and Thamūd, and the people of Abraham, and the people of Madyan, and the cities thrown down? Their messengers brought them clear signs; and God wronged them not, but they wronged their souls.
