وَالسَّمَٓاءِ وَالطَّارِقِۙ
And the sky and the herald.

وَمَٓا اَدْرٰيكَ مَا الطَّارِقُۙ
And do you know what the herald is
3
اَلنَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُۙ
The piercing star.
4
اِنْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌۜ
Every soul has a recorder over it.
5
فَلْيَنْظُرِ الْاِنْسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَۜ
So let man see from what he was created.
6
خُلِقَ مِنْ مَٓاءٍ دَافِقٍۙ
He was created from water that gushes forth.
7
يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَٓائِبِۜ
It comes out from between the spine and the testicles.
8
اِنَّهُ عَلٰى رَجْعِه۪ لَقَادِرٌۜ
For He is able to bring him back.
9
يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَٓائِرُۙ
The Day when all is revealed.
10
فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍۜ
Then he will not have any power or victor.
11
وَالسَّمَٓاءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِۙ
And the sky which gives rain.
12
وَالْاَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِۙ
And the land with small cracks.
13
اِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌۙ
This is the word that separates matters.
14
وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِۜ
And it is not a thing for amusement.
15
اِنَّهُمْ يَك۪يدُونَ كَيْداًۙ
They are scheming their schemes.
16
وَاَك۪يدُ كَيْداًۚ
And I scheme a scheme.
17
فَمَهِّلِ الْـكَافِر۪ينَ اَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْداً
So respite the rejecters, respite them for a while.
